I think I was scammed and don’t want to pay for item I never received. What should I do

You cannot be refunded by Apple if you are scammed. There is no buyer protection for Apple Cash. You must report it to the police and report it here - Get Support. If you are scammed on social media (Facebook/Instagram, etc..) you need to report it to them also.

Apple Cash is like handing someone cash there are no protections. if someone insists on using it for a purchase tell them no and that you can use Zelle or PayPal or some other protected service.
