Out of nowhere the letter P on my keyboard has stopped working as well as the backspace button sometimes. iPhone Xs on iOS 13.5.1

If it is not working in one mode only, then it might be a problem with the screen. It might be hard to test but does that area work in other apps?
Used Snapchat to colour in what part of the screen I could use. Black area is working fine
Is that in both portrait mode and landscape mode?
Only portrait mode.
Hard to say why you are having a problem with your keyboard since it looks like your screen is working. If necessary, get an appointment at an Apple Store for an evaluation.
