Firewire Adapter

Firewire adapter. I have an old Mini DVD camcorder. The video transfer cable out is firewire. I need to be able to connect the firewire cable to one of the thunderbolt ports on a 2017 Macbook Pro, to transfer the mini DVD videos to the hard drive. The $29 adapter (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD464LL/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapter?fnode=06081c2cc373564becf4a9105bb471705c5553a709c4ec00f5bfe90597197f84b9eaf33e3981114510194a73477e3720393499515343562edccb030e87c9c071ce7df6e1cbb13ec098463eb3bd0d3e52c249c4e87079794e70824d7645999b91) on Apple's site is the wrong thunderbolt connection. Anyone have any ideas as to a solution, please? Thanks.
