How do I stop the pop up window asking me if i'm sure I want to open google chrome?

I'm on a MacBook Air (only a couple of months old), using macOS Catalina (10.15.5) and my software is up to date. Why does Mac keep asking me if I'm sure I want to use Google Chrome? Every time I open the Chrome web browser it sends me that warning/error message. It's so annoying. Any suggestions? Thanks!

webloc files do not open with default browser Since updating to Mac OS 13.1, files with the .webloc file extension open by default in Safari even when I have a different web browser set as my default. These files should open in the default web browser as chosen in my settings. I hope Apple will fix this ASAP. And I really hope this is not some sneaky way to try to force people to use Safari when they don't want to.

SAFARI does not work on most websites What is happening to Safari 16.1 in Ventura 13.01? Most websites do not even load even if the content restrictions are disabled in the Safari settings? Everything works on the same iMac Pro in Microsoft's Edge, Firefox, Chrome. WHY is Safari such a junk browser after the latest updates????? Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for your post about stopping the pop-up message you're seeing about if you want to use Chrome. We'd be glad to get you pointed in the right direction.

It sounds like what you'll want to do is Change the default browser or email client on your Mac. Check out the steps in that link and make sure that your preferred browser is selected. If that doesn't get this taken care of, let us know.
