How do I stop the pop up window asking me if i'm sure I want to open google chrome?

I'm on a MacBook Air (only a couple of months old), using macOS Catalina (10.15.5) and my software is up to date. Why does Mac keep asking me if I'm sure I want to use Google Chrome? Every time I open the Chrome web browser it sends me that warning/error message. It's so annoying. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey there, Mary.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for your post about stopping the pop-up message you're seeing about if you want to use Chrome. We'd be glad to get you pointed in the right direction.

It sounds like what you'll want to do is Change the default browser or email client on your Mac. Check out the steps in that link and make sure that your preferred browser is selected. If that doesn't get this taken care of, let us know.

Have a great day.
