iOS13 - Find My is set up and my friends are in the list, but when I click the FindMy icon it just shows my phone. If I click the map icon under Contacts it shows their home location, but not where they are now

Finally figured it out by myself. Got no help from Apple support. Complained to them that results from web searches give incorrect information and they should to better at notifying users when they change something and provide accurate online help.

It sounds like you have Find My set up but is shows their home location not their current location. Check out this link for support.
