i just purchased more storage and its still telling me my storage is full, I can hardly do anything on my phone and its getting pretty frustrating

Welcome to the Apple community.

If you are short of storage space on your phone, buying additional space in the cloud is not going to help you. You need to make space on your phone by optimising some of your data.
