What push notifications occur to an unused phone?

I see 1.4 MB of cellular data used for push notifications to my iPhone in one day, even though I've turned off cellular data for all applications except Phone, and turned off Wi-Fi Assist and iCloud Drive, and my iPhone is within range of my WiFi, and I haven't made or received any calls. What could those push notifications be?

Is there a way to set up some kind of notification for data usage? I’m currently on an extended stay abroad, and have been using a prepaid SIM card for my iPhone. I generally turn cellular data off whenever I don’t actively need it, but my memory has never been amazing, so I forget now and then; twice in the past four months, this has lead to overuse of data (when my wifi connection failed without my noticing and my data had been accidentally left on), leading to $25 gone in a flash. Is there some setting I’m missing that would notify me when I unintentionally start using data? If not, there needs to be—I can’t help but feel it would be easy to implement, and would save quite a few users money in similar circumstances.

Confusing Push Notifications Cellular Data Usage When On Wifi Since the beginning of this year, my iPhone 5s has been using much more cellular data than normal. If I go into System Services, it appears that Push Notifications are using up a lot of cellular data, especially when I'm connected to my Wifi at home. In effect, I could be at home all day, connected to my Wifi, and it will show cellular data usage. What the heck is going on here? Why would my phone be using cellular data for push notifications when it's connected to my home Wifi? This makes absolutely no sense to me because to get around this problem, I would have to manually turn off my Cellular data every time I came home and turn it back on when I left home, which I'd rather not have to do. PS. I heard about a bug or something relating to your iPhone losing connection to your Wifi at home but I can leave the screen on for hours and it will still using up cellular data via push notifications, even though it's still connected to my wifi (and showing the symbol that it is).
