Accessing iTunes from MacBook Air onto iPhone 7

I have a lot of songs loaded on iTunes on my Mac (used to load them onto iPod), my iPod however no longer works and I would like to access these songs through my phone.

I have tried tried using apple tunes on my phone but it then only accesses songs I have bought. Most of the songs I have were downloaded from cds.

Is there an app that enables me to access this music or is there any other way?
