I am kind of behind. I upgrated my OS X El Capitan to Catalina. Now I cannot use word, powerpoint or excel. How do I fix this?

Catalina does not support 32-bit applications, printer, and scanner drivers. That means that Office 2008/2011 are unsupported, Adobe Reader 11, any Adobe CS software, and Java 6 are also unsupported. I suggest that you download and run the free Go64 software to see what 32-bit applications you still have installed. You will have to contact each vendor of said software to obtain 64-bit versions of their software that are stated to be compatible with Catalina (10.15.5).

You will need to decide whether you want to start a new Microsoft 365 subscription program, or fork over $150 once for Office 2019 for Mac. There is also the free, 64-bit LibreOffice Suite that can also open your existing Office documents.

The current, Catalina compatible Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is available for download. Contact Adobe for any other applications of theirs that do not work on Catalina.
