Non iTunes music transfer

I just purchased a new iPad Air gen 3 and the set up process from my iPad Air 2 didn’t transfer my non iTunes music from my music files. How do I transfer the other songs over?

You might be able to do this by subscribing to iTunes Match.

Subscribe to iTunes Match - Apple Support

Then you could possibly upload your music from your old iPad to the cloud, and access it on your new device from there.

An iPad can never serve as a music repository.

Transfer the music from your computer or wherever it is currently housed (not your iPad).

I have 1400 non iTunes songs on my iPad Air 2. I would like to transfer them to my new iPad.
