home Kit cannot find the HomePod

I got a HomePod but the Phone could not find the HomePod in the Home Kit App. When I tried to manually add the HomePod, neither the package and nor the Pod has the Code for scan or input. I tried to turn the Bluetooth on and off several times but no success. I also tried to unplug the HomePod and plugged it back on, still no luck.

The App. said the software of my iPhone is most up to date. How can I troubleshoot the HomePod? When I talked to Siri of the HomePod, Siri said it had problem with the WiFi but both myMac and iPhone were connected to the WiFi and could access internet. In a matter of fact, I was writing this post right next to the Pod.

I followed the Support Page but still does not work. My iPhone could not locate the HomePod.

You don’t manually add the HomePod and there is no code,

You need to set it up properly and it will self install in the Home App and use the same wifi network as the device you’re using to set it up with

Please follow the instructions in the below link and make sure you’ve done all the Get Started section:

Did I miss anything in the procedures?

Yes, you're still trying to set things up using the Home app. From Set up and use HomePod - Apple Support:

  1. Plug HomePod in to power. Wait for a chime and a pulsing white light to appear on the top of HomePod.
  2. Unlock your iOS device and hold it next to HomePod. Tap Set Up when it appears on your iOS device's screen.
  3. etc...

Hi Vancouver22

I still have no luck to pair and set up the HomePod. The WiFi, iCloud and Bluetooth are turned on both the iPhone and the iPad. The OS is most current on both units. When I open the Home App, the HomePod was not showing in the App so I was unable to set it up by either the phone or the pad. When I asked Siri, the HomePod reported that the unit did not have the access to internet but both my Phone and iPad were on Wi-Fi Network and got strong signal.

Did I miss anything in the procedures?
