ipad is disabled it says to connect to itunes. I can't figure this out. I'm so frustrated

I'm locked out of my ipad. It now says I have to connect to itunes. I tried resetting it and I'm not doing something right because it didn't work.

These are the only steps you can perform:--> If you forgot the passcode on your iPad, or your iPad is disabled
