An app dated July 1 2020 and which I have no recollection of downloading has appeared on my desktop. It is called "EssentialOptimizer" (all one word). Simple searches have not helped me to identify it. Does anyone know what this app is?
On the chance it's malware download and run the free version of Malwarebytes. It was developed by a long time contributor to these forums and a highly respected member of the computer security community.

Thank you. That's one step less drastic that I was thinking. I thought I'd give the community a chance to identify first -- on the outside chance it might be something I really want/need.
