A Few Thoughts:

  • Reset the SMC and NVRAM:

Sometimes changes are made to the system (i.e. updates) and then system settings (i.e. for Connections) become manipulated, technically. So try resetting the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac.

  • Any Security Software Installed?

If so uninstall it, using the Uninstaller and getting it directly from the developer. Such software just gets in the way on a Mac. And this is a out example why.

  • Create a Temporary Administrator User:

If it works, then it is obviously something configured in your user.

  • Log In as an Administrator:

Not doing so, you may not be able to create this. This would mean that you not have the permissions to set this up.

  • Log in to Safe Mode:

When logging in to Safe Mode (Hold Down: shift key upon bootup). Temporary File are cleared and configurations are fixed to his they should be. Wait 30 seconds, restart the Mac, then login as the Administrator.

Elsewise: Ask Google
