restore iphone

trying to restore iphone on mac. I backed up the iphone my mac but do not get this phone as an option to restore from.

Any suggestions?

I know it has backed up to the mac

Connect iPhone to Mac

Use your USB lightening cable --> Resolve USB-related alerts in iTunes - Apple Support

If unable to connect --> If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

For your Mac --> If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod ...

Use genuine cable --> Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories ...

Thanks, but none of that helps me.

Issue I have is the restore file I need will not show. I can find it if I search my computer but i will not get the option when in the "itunes" mode of finder.

iphone is great in every way except when it comes to backup and restore. Absolute failure every time for me.
