Monitor Agent program description

Hello,

I am experiencing a poor processing time theses days for my mac book pro (2014) and I am curious about it.

I opened the monitor agent to find out what program could be the cause of this slowdown.

I didn't identify the main cause except perhaps the kernel task a little bit high or the firefox extensions using too much ressources.

However I would like to know about all the programs that are running.

Question: Is there a place or someone that would provide such information about what are the purpose of all these programs?

Example : I have program called "open" or an another "imklaunchagent" but I don't know what it does ,and both seems to be launched by me as a user (in opposition to root).

Could somebody from apple would give this information?

Thank you in advance for any information,

AppleUser 171
