Lost progress handwritten note in Apple notes

While writing a journal with Apple Pencil in Apple notes I switched apps and came back and realised I lost half of my handwritten progress...

tried to replicate it and yep, each time it did not save. Sometimes it would save some progress but not all.

i read another article on here the same thing. Still no response from Apple and no fix. iOS up to date, brand new iPad Pro 12.9. Super frustrating because I was really happy with Apple notes until this. Unfortunately now I can’t trust the app with handwritten or drawing :(

anybody else?

apple any chance of a helping hand? I’m sure I can replicate it with screen-sharing.

thanks in advance.

You are not reaching out to Apple here.

These are Apple supplied Apple customer/product user to user technical support/troubleshooting communities.

We are, largely, just Apple customers/product users, just like you!

I have never liked or trusted the Apple iOS Notes app as it has always, ALWAYS been glitchy and buggy and has always failed me when I tried to exclusively relied on it!

The iOS Notes app has never, EVER been a reliable and stable app.

Apple uses its iOS Notes app as more of a “showcase” app and Apple seems to never fully 100% realise this app!

Apple seems to always get this app to, like 80% to 85% “there” and that is as far as Apple ever gets their iOS Notes app!

In addition the Apple iOS Notes app ONLY gets updates and improvements and new features ONLY once a year with the introduction of a new iOS/iPadOS.

The iOS Notes app is NOT an app to be exclusively relied upon!

Free is not free if there is always a potential for the app to lose data.

If you really care about anything you write or do with your iPad, do yourself a HUGE kindness and purchase another more stable and reliable, third party notes/writing app.

There are plenty now compatible with the Apple Pencil.

These allow backup of your writing/notes app data to all data storage/backup services like, iCloud, Google Drive, DropBox, Box.

Here are a few I am aware of in no particular order
