a message sent on chat used to echo the text back in gray

Before ios 13, I would send a text to myself. When I sent the text, the text would appear in a Blue bubble. It would also echo back the message in a Gray bubble. Now it only displays the text in a Blue bubble, but is not echoed in the Gray bubble.

Hello jimt1950,

We see that you have a concern when sending a text message to yourself. We'd be happy to help.

We were able to test this and see the message that was sent in gray and then the message that is received showing in blue. Also, the latest version of iOS 13 is being used. So, let's take a look into this with you. Are you running iOS 13.5.1? If not go ahead and update. As with any update we suggest creating a backup first.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you're already using the latest version of software, let's have you force close the Messages app, restart your iPhone and test again.

How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

If the issue remains, respond with some more details. Are you having an issue when receiving a text from any of your contacts?
