I'm on the free trial of apple tv+ which expires today. I want to cancel but the option to do so isn't on the edit sub page. see attached screenshot. please help
The subscription as shown in the screenshot is already canceled, and will expire on July 5th.
There is a differentiation between canceling and expiring of subscriptions. Expiring is the end date of the subscription (unless you re-subscribe). Subscriptions will auto-renew until canceled.
It works like this:
- Active and ongoing subscriptions will list a next billing date.
- Active but canceled subscriptions will list an expire date in the future.
- Inactive/recently expired subscriptions may list an expire date in the past.
- Long expired subscriptions may not show anymore in the subscriptions overview (I just found out when checking mine.)
Subscriptions that are canceled in their trial period/free period will expire ‘immediately’.
Subscriptions canceled after the trial period, will continue until the end of the current billing cycle.
Subscriptions that you want to end, should be canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, or they may continue.
Hi Urquhart1244. Thanks for your reply. My concern is that even tho it says it expires on July 5, that this will only expire the free trial and automatically kick it into subscription mode for which I'll be charged--as with so many other "free" trials. Thoughts?
