Will the upgrade of 200gb automatically be shared on the family plan? Or can I just keep it to myself?

i need more data on my phone. I’d like to upgrade to 200gb but it says it CAN be shared on the family plan. I don’t want to share it bc then they take it all. Can I keep it to myself?

In order for it to be shared you would need to go into Settings > Family Sharing and allow it to be shared. See the sharing instructions in Share an iCloud storage plan with your family - Apple Support

If you don't do that, it won't be shared.
