Frozen Black Screen
I tried to update my Macbook Air and the screen has gone black with the mouse frozen and I don’t know how to shut it down or restart it or anything. Even when I close it it doesn’t turn off. Can someone please help?

Press and hold down the Power button until the computer shuts down (5-15 seconds.)

I put my finger on the touch id for 15 seconds and nothing happens. Do I need to hold down any other buttons at the same time?
You need to press down on the key. It should depress unless there is a different shutdown switch. I'm not familiar with the model you have, but that's how it works on my 2018 MBP.
Ohh I didn’t even realize the touch ID pressed down. Thank you so much lol I feel so stupid. I was struggling.
