Using 2020 MacBook with MacMini

I have a new 2020 MacBook. I'm doing lots of video editing and it's kind of slow. I was wondering if I could buy a MacMini and connect it to my MacBook so I can take advantage of the power/speed of the mini without using a separate monitor other than the MacBook, but still use the MacBook for my regular school stuff?

FWIW, for the cost of a MacMini that would be of any use use

in terms of video editing, you could trade-in or if you are still

within the store return time limit return your MacBook and

purchase a MacBook Pro more suited to your needs.

The cost of a MacMini minimally suitable would the six

core i5 with the added 16GB memory option which would

be $1299 USD. The i3 version would be a bit better than

your MacBook but would still need 16GB to be useful

which bumps it to $999.

Also, FWIW, my experiences with video has shown that

the more CPU cores you have, the better and unless you

are doing 3D animation, eGPUs (external graphics processors)

really don't add much.
