Time Machine Keeps asking me to create a new back up

Hi,

I have been using Time Machine for many years and currently back up to a Synology NAS. About once every 6 months Time Machine says for the reliability of the back up I should let it create a brand new back up. Takes ages but no problem....

Now its asking me the same thing every 2 days. The exact warning is below. Any ideas what's going wrong and how to fix it?

A non-Apple NAS device is not suitable for use with Time Machine. It has never been reliable nor will it ever be reliable.

You will now reiterate the fact you have been using it for many years. I will reply that understand since I just read what you wrote. I will then reiterate what I just wrote. This Discussion can continue in that manner just as hundreds or thousands of identical Discussions have in the past, which you can read for yourself if you are sufficiently motivated to do so. Please understand if I am not willing to participate in perpetuating the popular misconception that you can use Time Machine reliably with a Synology NAS.

Thanks!
