2 iPhones seem to answer both phone numbers - family Apple ID - is this the problem

We have a family Apple ID - we share all the tech! Just set up a second iPhone on a different number (different network) and now both phones answer incoming calls to either phone number. How do I stop this happening

iPhone 6, iOS 12

This is happening because you are using the same Apple ID for everyone in your Family.

To stop getting calls on all of your devices using same Apple ID, just turn off the Calls from iPhone setting on that device.

See the setup section above for details.

    1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, then turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices.
    2. On your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn on Calls from iPhone.
    3. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings, then select Calls From iPhone.
