contacts not backing up

My phone started freaking out this weekend so I was checking my iCloud files to be sure everything is backed up. Found that my contacts are not all backed up and no matter how many times I run a backup, some of the contacts don't carry over. Thoughts?

iPhone SE, iOS 11

Most likely they're synced with some email acc. Make sure that you've logged in to Gmail/Yahoo/Outlook/etc. in Settings > Accounts & Passwords.
