How do I PERMANENTLY remove the Safari sidebar so that it does not pop back up the next time I open Safari?

How to PERMANENTLY disable safari sidebar please?!?! Where is the option to remove the sidebar from appearing everytime I move or place my cursor on the left side of my screen? Not Permanent, bit try Shift+CMD+L keys to hide it.
