How can I remove “covid-19” and “racial justice” from my Apple news feed? Why don’t I see a single article on China or Hong Kong on my news feed on 7/7/2020? Is that not important news?

I would like to remove these pinned items at the top of my news feed. I’d like stories about China/Hong Kong and other important news of our time. Not just covid and racial Justice stories. I have to scroll 7 pages deep to find a sports story.

I asked a similar question about the removing the pinned articles for a child's device and there doesn't appear to be a way to do it. Even if you block the topics both will still show up pinned on iPad and iPhone.

Maybe if enough people give feedback they will allow you to edit the pins: https://www.apple.com/feedback/apple-news.html

I checked today and Apple finally....FINALLY...removed the Racial Justice feed. To say it was insulting is an understatement. Hope they don’t push more virtue signaling like this again. If Apple wants Racial Justice they can do more effective and direct things like hire more minorities and perhaps discontinue using what basically amounts to slave labor in China to build their products. If they want to save the climate, they might also considering extending the life cycle of their products. How many 2 year old iPhones are in a landfill I wonder? Bottom line is for one of the largest and most profitable companies in the world to think they can sit back and do little more than pinning a feed with a few articles about racial inequality for the masses to read is beyond hypocritical. It’s a relief to see that the pinned topic is finally deleted. Thank you Apple.

Preventing your children from finding out things that are going on in the world, from finding out that different people have different views of how things are going is probably a lost cause. But, if you can't trust your children to abide by your wishes, perhaps it's time to subscribe to paper versions of a couple of appropriate magazines. It would probably be a lot cheaper than Apple News+ and everyone loves getting mail.
