Problem forwarding email on MacBook Pro, OS Catalina 10.15.5

I can forward many emails, but not all from my MacBook Pro running Catalina 10.15.5. I keep getting message that can't send message using server {then lists my gmail address]. One email is to my wife who uses a gmail account as well.


Recently upgraded from MacBook Pro 15" to new 16" but had to do manual install of programs, transfer from old machine to new machine did not work.


Can't figure out what to change to fix problem.

After reviewing your post, it appears that you're unable to forward emails. When you try, you receive a message that it's unable to send using the server for your Gmail account. We're glad to help with this.


Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac -- If you set up your account manually, remove the email account using the steps under "Remove an email account", then set it up again using the Google option.


If you can’t send emails in Mail on Mac -- If you're still unable to forward emails, the information and steps in this article can help.


Also, make sure the outgoing (SMTP) mail server is specified as directed by the provider of your email account. See Verify an email account’s outgoing server.


Use Connection Doctor in Mail on Mac -- If the issue persists, use Connection Doctor to help you diagnose the problem.
