I am trying to update the sofware but its almost 30hrs passed still shows installing. is it usally takes time or something worng with my mac?

A MacBook Pro from 2011 cannot install macOS Catalina.
What software are you attempting to install, some information would be nice.
When downloading it is best to to have your mac connected to your router via
cable rather than rely on WiFi. Do not use the mac while it is downloading and
do not use any other devices that share the same internet connection.
And 30 hours is excessive.
