I would like to mirror my iPad air to my MacBook Pro (2015) so I can move back and forth when creating remote lectures (the finger pad is too clunky to use as a whiteboard). My Mac is too old to have 'sidecar' - what are the other options and how do I get to them?

In that case Kevin is right. You can use Quicktime to see the iPad's screen on the Mac, but the iPad will need to be connected over USB to the Mac. It does not work wirelessly.

If you're a Zoom shop, your IT department can help you with the IT installer which has this functionality built in.
What exactly do you mean by "mirror"?
Do you want to see your iPad's screen on the Mac? Or do you want to see the Mac's screen on the iPad?

Thank you! I want to see the iPad screen on the mac. My dream is that I could diagram things (DNA! Gene interaction pathways!) on the iPad while teaching (live) using the meeting software my institution insists on (teams. sigh).
I have a same problem in my Macbook Pro 2015. I am also looking for options. Maybe expert can tell us better.
