How to Charge New Macbook Battery

Hi all,

Just got a new battery and I have not installed it as of yet.

Please forgive my ignorance, but do I need to charge a new macbook battery? If so, how long? Do I need to calibrate it, too?

Yes, charge it to 100% and then calibrate it. You might have to calibrate it twice, at least I did with my last iBook battery.

The battery didn't make the specified capacity the first time but did after the second.

I read something about having to charge the battery for 10 hours...is this correct?

no. just cycle it til it's full and you're done.
