Setting up a new XR

Hi - I'm setting u[p a new XR phone and have never backed up anything tothe cloud and thus dont have anything to restore. My problem is that the setup program wants to send me a text or 8 digit code for two factor authentication. However, since I have not completed setting up my phone, I can't receive texts or phone calls yet. Any suggestions?
