Repairing iCould Account

When I restored my phone from backup, none (yes, I said NONE) of my text messages were restored. On

the bottom of my message screen it says "Messages in iCloud are currently disabled". Selecting "Repair Now" seems to do nothing but prompt for my password and passcodes. What do I try next to get my text messages back?

Indeed if you house your messages in iCloud, they are not saved on your iPhone backup.

In this case, be certain iCloud messaging is turned on.

I would definitely not come to that conclusion. I have never stored my messages in iCloud. I also have never seen the error message you’re seeing. So there’s something else going on. The likely scenario based on what you’ve told us is indeed you do house your messages in iCloud and you have not turned on that feature at this moment.
