Manage storage shows both files and icloud drive.

What is the difference between files and icloud drive? Isn’t files my drive, why do i also have a thing called icloud drive there? Also all of my photos are on the cloud as well, i don’t have anything that’s going to be 1.48GB on my phone at this moment, only the last 5-10 photos are on my device. I don’t understand why I use the cloud yet still 2 GB of data is on my phone.

Files and iCloud Drive are one and the same but Files is where your documents are stored whereas iCloud Drive is where you documents are stored locally (on-device) if that makes sense.

Your photos reflect 1.48GB so I'm not sure how that equates to just 5-10 photos. Are you certain you don't have more stored in photos? Also it would seem that WhatsApp is also taking up your storage at 3.19GB.

From the image above, it would appear that apps and their data are taking up space as well.

Thank you for the reply! Sorry but I didn't understand what you mean by "Files is where your documents are stored whereas iCloud Drive is where you documents are stored locally (on-device)". The iCloud Drive is not something I can open and look, it doesn't have an app, so how come it is my local storage? I can only see my files through Files.
