I saved a pdf to my files, them annotated using mark up. I didn’t re-save; I’ve done the same thing many times and it’s saved automatically and hitting save again only creates a duplicate file. But this time when the iPad restarted, all my notes were gone.
can I recover that marked up file? And how to keep it from happening again?

Hi, it was backed up before I marked up the document. The markups were lost in minutes, so the backup is not relevant. Thanks though. Anyone know about how to save a pdf in files that you're marking up, or why it's never happened before but this time didn't automatically save? Everytime I try to save it, it makes me create a new file.
