I just upgraded my phone and now all the music that was not bought from Apple ie uploaded from CD is gone. Is there anyway to fix this? I just upgraded my iPad too but it is not handy so I don't know if it's a problem there or not.

You will need to sync your iPhone with iTunes on your computer. There is no other way to transfer the music from your old iPhone to your new one apart from getting an Apple Music subscription.
