Will a US purchased Apple Watch work with a German purchased iPhone?

Purchased a Apple Watch +cellular in the United States, moving to Germany where I will purchase a German iPhone. Will they still be able to work together? Or do I need to purchase a Apple Watch in Germany?

They will work together fine, no issues there. But the U.S Apple watch will not be able to connect to German cellular carriers for Cell service and will depend entirely on the iPhone for calls and messages.
