Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Unable to boot into the external bootable APFS volume

  • The internal drive contains HFS+ formatted bootable partitions with older macOSes (pre-High Sierra)
  • The external drive contains an APFS formatted bootable partition with Mojave installed

Issue: I can't switch to that APFS partition. Disk Utility does NOT recognize the structure of the external bootable APFS volume.


Help me, please.

Use rEFInd to provide you a menu of bootable operating systems when the computer restarts:

Or you can just Option Boot and manually select the OS you want to boot from. To Option Boot just hold down the Option key just after powering on the computer.
