IPhone OS 4.0.1

I upgraded to IOS 4.0 with my Iphone 3G and it slowed down substantially. Then I upgraded to 4.0.1 and my phone barely responds. Are any of the rest of you having this problem. I am more than a little annoyed about this. I also have a Macbook, IMac and talked my husband into getting an IPhone. We were considering an IPad but I am kind of wondering now if we really want to go there!

Updates can cause corrupted data or settings. Have you tried any of the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide?

Restart, Reset, Restore using a backup, Restore as new.

I have tried them all and the performance of my iPhone is still pathetic. The update never should have been made available to the old phones. The fact that it was, and barely works, leads me to believe that the goal is to frustrate people to point at which they need to update to a new phone. The lack of an easy uninstall supports this theory.

Like Modular747 said, have you done the basic troubleshooting in the manual?

I have iOS4.0.1 on my iPhone and some of the newer apps designed for use on the iPhone4 are a bit sluggish but all my older apps work just fine.
