iCloud first time setup issues

I use a PC but have a client who wants to share content over iCloud but I don't, nor have I, owned an Apple product. It won't let me access their shared folders because I have to access iCloud on an Apple product first, am I stuck? Is there really no way to have iCloud fully set up without logging into some Apple product?

First, create an AppleID, you can do that on your Windows PC. In the following link: scroll down to the section 'Create an Apple ID on your computer'. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204316

Now, set up iCloud for Windows. In iCloud Drive, you can create a shared folder https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201391
