Raspberry Pi RNDIS USB gadget manual DHCP

Does anyone know why this stopped working when I updated from High Sierra to Catalina? Probably a bug. This page describes the manual DHCP setup:

However in Catalina, MY COMPUTER gets assigned address 10.0.7.1. When I try to login SSH, it turns out I am trying to log in to a nonexistent account on my own computer?

Can anyone explain this?

Did anyone solve the Catalina DHCP problem? Most of the posts about this have dead ended. I turned on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018) today with Catalina (10.15.2) after changing my WiFi network to new hardware (eero Pro). I discovered the MacBook was configuring for a 172 address when the eero was providing a 192 address. I had to manually configure IP address (after reserving one on my new eero) and add DNS servers (which I got from my iPhone config, which is working with eero) to get web access to work. No other issues with devices using DHCP on eero, and plenty of chatter about Catalina flaking with DHCP. What’s going on??

MAC address for ethernet missing The new office I'm in requires I register my mac book pro's Ethernet MAC ADDRESS in order connect other than wifi. When I unlock the system pref's lock and go to ethernet under the advanced tab, then to hardware tab...the location for the MAC ADDRESS is simple missing. I've attached picture. I am connecting through a USB-C adapter made by "pepper jobs." Any help is most appreciated! Also need to mention that Firewall is turned "on" under Security & Privacy" system pref.
