How to make it so the dock stays on the MacBook and doesn't go across to the bottom of the Samsung TV?

Hi,

I have my computer plugged into a Samsung TV as an extended desktop set up.

Please could someone tell me how to make it so the dock stays on the MacBook and doesn't go across to the bottom of the TV? I have it currently at the bottom of the MacBook screen.

Thank you

Try turning off Separate Spaces. Also check the positions in the Arrangement tab of Displays system preference. Normally the displays should be side by side. If they are one above the other, the dock can move automatically to the lower display when it is turned on.

Thanks again for your reply Malcolm.

I turned off separate spaces but was unable to have a PowerPoint slideshow on as well as a document as it made the peripheral go blank so I have turned it back on again.

My set up is a monitor on the windowsill directly behind the MacBook so your second explanation is exactly the issue I was trying to explain. Is there a way to stop it automatically changing? Thanks
