Devices that have fingerprint recognition use a special sensor that can detect minute differences in the depth of the whorls in your fingerprint and the temperature of your finger. Devices that don’t have a HOME button can’t do that, so it is unlikely that the feature could be added to any phones that don’t have the sensor in the HOME button. It wouldn’t be secure if it only used an image of your fingerprint, because it could be fooled with a photo.

Use a numeric passcode.

Look at the size of the camera lens. Not the glass covering it; the lens itself.
