How to find a previous recording in QuickTime.

Hello, gale120. There are a couple of things I'd try. If you remember the name of the file, try searching for it using Spotlight or the Finder. You can open QuickTime and go to File>Open Recent. From the Finder, you can go to ~/Movies.

When you closed the file, you would be prompted to save it. The default name would be Untitled.mov . The default location would be the last location used by QuickTime’s dialog box. It can be a local disk or iCloud.
Clicking Don’t Save would discard the file and it would be lost beyond recovery.
