LoginUserService crashes everytime I restart + Installation of new software fails. Mojave 10.14.6

Hallo there

Every time I restart my Mac, the following message appears: "LoginUserService stopped unexpectedly"

I have no idea what this is about.

Shown details of the problem:

It also turns out to be impossible to install new software. Same message every time: "The installation failed.

An error occurred in the installation program which caused the installation to fail. Contact the manufacturer of the software."

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hello GovertD and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It appears that you are having some difficulty with an error message that comes up everytime you boot your Mac.

1) Start by doing a safe boot of the Mac. This will clear some cache files, turn off some system extensions and log-in items and give you a good foundation. After doing the safe boot, reboot normally and test.

2) If the issue persists after a safe boot, set up a test user account in order to isolate the issue to the system or the user data and ultimately resolve it.

While in the test user account, attempt to install something that has previously failed.

Cheers.

I'd already done a safe boot. This didn't work.

Because of these problems I decided to do a fresh install. Reinstall all programs and only import my documents and program settings back. It was quite a job, but it worked. Everything is working properly again, and the computer works a lot faster.

The only thing that didn't work is to activate my Icloud keychain in Icloud. Any idea how I could fix this?

Cheers
