Fix Apple Watch 3 so it works with your iPhone 6?

I read you can send your iWatch 3 in and they will fix it so it works with your iphone 6. Is this correct?

Apple Watch resetting to New York and Cupertino All I just got a new iPhone 14 pro and synced it to my Apple Watch 6. Most apps work fine but the weather keeps resetting to New York and Cupertino instead of about 20 other cities on my iPhone. Both devices are on their latest os versions and I restarted both number of times. I also unpaired and paired it. I tried Apple support but they were clueless. I also deleted NY and Cupertino from my watch but they keep reappearing The weather app worked fine on my old iPhone 8. The cities show fine in my Apple Watch app on iPhone, just not on my Apple Watch. Anybody knows the fix? Thanks

A few people on this forum have done what you suggested but you will have to provide proof of ownership and your receipt for the watch and they MAY be able to help you,
