Apple TV not working

every time I opened any app on my apple tv it would just show a loading symbol so I tried to update it but nothing worked so then I decided to reset it and now its keeps saying "activation error , the apple activation server is temporarily unavailable" but its been like that for a couple days and I keep trying but nothing is helping.
