Canon will not download.
iphoto comes up with blank page, but pics will not appear

Have you tried a new cable?
Is it a micro-card with adapter or a full size SD card. The micro cards seem to fail at just the wrong time.
When was the last time you reformatted the card in the camera?
What camera?
I hate to say it. but sometimes there seems to be some mis-communication between the camera and the computer. The best way to clear it is to use an SD card reader, get the pictures that way, and then re-format the card in the camera.
