Text alerts on multiple devices at the same time.

I have a 2019 IPad, Apple Watch 3 and I iphone 11. I get notifications and alerts fine on all devices. However, if I’m on my iPad I don’t get text alerts. I will get iMessage alerts on my iPad, but actual text from androids I don’t get. They will show in my lock screen, but I don’t get a sound, vibrate or light flash. Nothing on the watch or iPhone, only while I’m using my iPad. As soon as I lock my iPad or open my iPhone, his next text will come through on my watch and iPhone. Please help. My husband always thinks I’m ignoring him, but I just don’t get his messages while I’m reading and that’s often.

Hi questa98,

It sounds like you're having trouble with notifications with messages and we can help.

It might be that your iPad isn't set to receive SMS text messages that are delivered to your iPhone. Being signed into Apple ID will have iMessage delivered everywhere, but your iPhone must forward each SMS text message to your iPad.

You’re Amazing!!!! That worked. I got the notification on my watch and my iPad! I still didn’t hear it on my phone, but that’s okay. Thanks so much!!!

That's great that you were able to solve the concern with texts not coming to your iPad!

It might also be normal for you to get notifications on either your Apple Watch or your iPhone but not both.
