AirPods doesn't disconnect when put back in case

I have bought Airpods 2 about 4 months back, everything was working fine until last week. Then the problem started, they donot disconnect when put back in case, it drains the battery too.

I have done resetting the AirPods several times, also restarted the phone, making the bluetooth Off but the problem still persists. Tried reaching Apple support (Livechat) no one comes online.

I am getting disheartened by Apple and i hope i don't get to move away from Apple.

Anyone can help or guide.

Does the AirPod start charging when it's put in the case? Any dirt or debris inside the bottom of the case where the charging contacts are? Did this just start happening all of a sudden?

Yes, it charges when kept in case. But the AirPods don't t disconnect when kept back in case after use, they are connected. Also they don't charge at that time, After the whole battery of the Airpod is drained, it charges back.

This issue suddenly started a week back.
